Medical District Veterinary Clinic at Illinois is the natural outgrowth of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine that’s committed to advancing animal health care through teaching, research and public service. For more than 60 years, the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine has been training exceptional veterinarians, including many of those located in Chicago, with the skills, insights and expertise required to deliver the best in small animal health care.

VETERINARY COLLEGE IN CHICAGO

In order to better serve the animal health care needs of Chicago, the state’s most populous city, the college opened this clinic in 2009, expanding its mission to the greater Chicagoland area. It complements other Chicago-based programs of the college, such as the Zoological Pathology Program and the Zoo and Aquatic Medicine Residency Program.

Staffed and run by skilled primary care veterinarians, the clinic fulfills several strategic goals for the college, including:

• Foster client, student and public education,
• Support exemplary and cutting-edge advancements in veterinary medicine,
• And collaborate with Chicago area veterinarians, zoological programs, and medical professionals to benefit animal care and veterinary health.

MEDICAL DISTRICT VETERINARY CLINIC AT ILLINOIS

Medical District Veterinary Clinic at Illinois is more than a friendly animal clinic; it’s also a teaching facility designed to help future veterinarians acquire the skills they need to manage a successful private urban practice. Students from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Urbana-Champaign are provided with the unique opportunity to complete rotations at Medical District Veterinary Clinic at Illinois in order to enhance their client and patient services while increasing their knowledge and skills.
